Dan Plutchak has spent more than 20 years as a community news journalist.
In 2009, he was promoted to associate editor with Bliss Communications and is responsible for WalworthCountyToday.com, the Gazette's news website covering the Lake Geneva area in Walworth County, Wis.
The local news site combines content produced for the print editions of the Gazette and CSI Media's weekly newspapers, along with edited aggregate of local online news and original content produced specifically for the site.
Prior to that, he was associate editor for the Bliss Communication's newly-acquired CSI community newspaper group based in Delavan , Wis.
Until the acquisition in 2008 of CSI Media, Plutchak was editor of The Week, a twice-weekly print and daily online news publication covering Walworth County in southeastern Wisconsin.
Plutchak has gained a national reputation for drawing readers with innovative content, design and delivery platforms. The Week has won numerous awards from The National Newspaper Association, The Wisconsin Newspaper Association and the Wisconsin News Photographers' Association. It won a second-place award as best weekend newspaper in the country
in 2007.
Plutchak's resume describes his experience in developing relevant and engaging news products. He also guides creative teams in the use of both traditional story telling tools as well as interactive content, video, and multi-media.
